The longer I spend scrolling through
Instagram miniature accounts, the more I am blown away by the
incredible talent of these miniature artists. Not just their skill, but the
creativity and commitment to making something wonderful sharing it with
the world. It’s also wonderful to be part of a community who share a love of
miniatures and who appreciate each other’s work.
I noticed recently that many
of the accounts I’ve been ogling were by Australian artists and I thought I’d
share a few here who are doing some excellent work. Whatever sort of miniatures you
are into, these are all worth taking a look.
Melbourne based lost_miniatures will take you to another world. One featuring bookcases stuffed with old books, manuscripts, scrolls, jars of trinkets and other mysterious findings. I get strong Indiana Jones adventure vibes here, imagining searching for treasure on ancient maps and discovering the unexpected. Trust me, you have to see it for yourself! I have some Lost Miniatures items in the shop at Tom Thumb’s but it’s worth checking out their Etsy store for a wider range.

solscreations is another fabulous miniatures Instagram account. This Sydney artist creates the MOST incredibly detailed and realistic miniature food. Truly, I have never seen anything like it. You can head to their Etsy store if you are looking to buy mini for your tiny projects. Think teeny donuts, ice creams, roasts, veggies, bread sticks…there is so much to see. And I just did a deep dive further as saw that some of the minis are also available as earrings! Just wow.
If you are looking for more modern style
miniatures, this is the page for you. mini_house_of_liv
creates brilliant 3d printed minis and paints them in creative ways so you won’t
believe how real they look. Liv has incredible style and makes the most
gorgeous, glamourous miniature houses, also using minis from other creators who
get shout outs on her page. I dare you to head to the Mini House of Liv and not
feel instantly inspired to start making!
tinypotsmelbourne has a huge following and with good reason! It is impossible to look at this page and not fall in love with one of these clay miniatures. The tiny teapots have my heart, but then so do the little cups and saucers. The attention to detail is brilliant and makes them just perfect for any miniature scene - or on their own! The highlight of this page is that they have a tiny pottery wheel. I mean, can you ask for anything more? You can watch even watch reels of their minis being made on the little wheel. A miniature lover's dream.
Oh my goodness, blueberrylaneminis is the sweetest, most wholesome dollhouse page I have come across. The designs lean toward a classic style but these are not your usual dollhouses. Think white cottages, English countryside, afternoon tea – all the lovely cosy details, miniature style. Visit Blueberry Lane Minis and see the loveliness for yourself. My only wish is that I could visit all these beautiful scenes and see them for myself!

I hope you find some magic in these pages like I did and maybe a bit of inspiration for your next mini project. I will be back next week with some thoughts on what I've got planned for my upcoming projects and sharing some different techniques and products along the way.
See you next time!
